Hi my name is Billy Askew. There are many things to do in Humboldt county, the area in which I live. My favorite place to go in humboldt county is the Arcata Community Forest. It was considered a park in 1979 when the mayor finished renovating it for public use. The arcata forest contains 2134 acres (or 8.64 km2) of land. That is a lot of forest if you put that into perspective. That is the same as 1940 american football fields.
ReplyDeleteThere are many activities to do here such as hiking, mountain bike riding, and frisbee golf. I like hiking. Every monday I go on a 3.2 kilometer run with my three friends Chris, Konnor, and Dion. We enjoy the scenery while running up and down hills and taking the occasional break. The forest helps shield us from the wind and stays relatively cool due to the abundance of shade so we don’t get too hot while running for an extended amount of time. Sometimes we run for up to one hour and fifteen minutes. This is what I do in my spare time and I look forward to hearing from you.
The Klamath River is known around the world as a beautiful river that runs from Altamont in Klamath County of Southern Oregon, dips into Humboldt County. By jet boat, people can enjoy visiting Klamath River in Humboldt County. Setting out on a two-hour trip from Klamath’s estuary called “Rekwoi,” which takes visitors up the river, powered by twin jets. The round-trip tour is more than 45 miles. The captain and narrator tells all about the Klamath River’s history, Native American culture and the area’s wildlife.Tours are given between May and September, three times daily. It can be quite cool in the morning and evening. The Jet Boat Tour office is located on Hwy 101, five miles south of Trees of Mystery, just over the border into Del Norte County.
ReplyDeleteI have an experience, visiting the river by jet boat. From the boat, I could see some creatures, such as, ospreys (bird), hawks, eagles, deer and elk which is similar to deer. I had the opportunity to take some pictures. I really enjoyed the sights.
Hi my name is Levi Kujawa-Seda. I live here in Humbolt county and I want to talk to you about one of the things I do here in Humbolt county. This is Frisbee Golf. It is a fun sport where you take a Frisbee and shoot it into a basket in as few tosses as possible as possible. A Frisbee in case you do not know, is a circular saucer like disk that you toss in the air like a ball just this glides through the air. And the basket is a pole with a cone like shape with chains to catch the Frisbees.
ReplyDeleteWhat makes Frisbee golf different her in Humbolt from anywhere else, that’s easy redwood trees. Imagine this you’re playing Frisbee golf in the middle of a forest not just any forest but the redwood forest. It’s filled with gigantically tall red wood trees and if you look up they are blocking the sun with a few beams of light are shining down it makes you feel so good. This makes it different from any where else.
Moonstone Beach is south of Trinidad but north of Mckinleyville. Little River finds its mouth between boulders popular for climbing by university students. North is a cliff also used for climbing, but this time with ropes and pulleys. To secure them, one must climb to the top through low-lying brush and via vines of ivy in the steeper areas, on one of two longer trails snaking around the back of the bluff. When at the top one can see for miles out and over the Pacific Ocean. Farther up the beach are a series of caves, presided over by the steady drip-drip of a stream flowing down towards the sea. It's said a miner's leg bone is buried under the sand there. Caves only accessible in low tide continue dotting the coast line, and in one is an old VW bug. Surfing is popular all year round with the newer crowd because of the waves' consistency, though not for their quality. In the winter, it is virtually impossible to paddle out past the waves. Every summer there is a sand castle building contest as well as many kinds of camps, weddings, and picnics.
ReplyDeleteHi Emily ! We read your description of Moonstone Beach and it's look so beautiful, you can see the Pacific Ocean and surf ! We really want to go there ! Maybe soon !
DeleteAnd good job for your description !

The Kinetic Sculpture Race is what you think it is a 42 mile(about 67 km) long race that starts in the arcata plaza and over the course of three days the arive at Ferndale.
ReplyDeletethis tradition started back in 1969 and runs every year on memorial day weekend and is fun to see the cool and strange racing sculptures. and for added challenge the racers must go through the bay and dead mans drop. And is all FOR THE GLORY
